IDEA is an international award-winning programme that helps develop digital, enterprise and employability skills.
Through a series of online challenges, students can win career- enhancing badges, unlock new opportunities and ultimately, gain industry-recognised awards that help them stand out from the crowd.
IDEA aspires to be the digital and enterprise equivalent of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Bronze is beginner level, silver intermediate and Gold advanced.
Hair And beauty
The Tropical Palms Group is a multi-award-winning business located in Droylsden, Manchester (along with various other outlets). Tropical Palms have brought a hair and beauty service to the community alongside a tattoo parlour and even educational facilities, providing hairdressing & barbering training for people in the Greater Manchester area.
They are a provider of NVQ, QCF and VTCT accredited courses.
Our students are currently enrolled in the Foundation level 1 and 2 certificate in hairdressing and beauty.

This qualification offers a flexible bank of units that provides an overview of potential occupations and job roles within the sector. It provides learners with specialist and transferable skills, engages them with current industry practice, and prepares them to progress onto further qualifications or employment within the motor vehicle industry.
Arts award
Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.
Through progressing through the five levels, young people get to:

AQA Unit Award Scheme
The Unit Award Scheme allows all students to engage with learning and have their achievements formally recognised.
Students are rewarded with a certificate each time they successfully complete a unit of learning. They can build up a portfolio of certificates to evidence their skills, knowledge and experience.
The scheme boosts confidence, increases engagement and improves motivation, helping students to make progress on their lifelong learning journey.
UAS covers all topics from school curriculum subjects to life skills, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and work-related learning. Students can achieve an unlimited number of units each academic year, receiving certificates on-demand at any time throughout the year.
